Elegance personified!

Hey all! The last couple of months have sure been tied up, exciting and rewarding at the same time. I was honored to have been able to design and execute two beautiful bridal dresses for two beautiful ladies which I'm about to share with you right now.

The first thing every bride-to-be should be doing is to create her inspiration folder which makes it so much easier and less complicated for the bride herself and the planning crew including the designer to get an idea about what exactly 'The bride wants'. So let's just say 'Be Organized!'. :)

Below are a couple of wedding inspirations/mood examples for a bride-to-be to get a head start with the wedding planning.

Getting back to the dresses, here are some work in progress images of the two dresses which was designed to be meticulously hand appliqued one by one with bridal lace, pearls and beads. While one dress takes on a lean silhouette with an elegant and graceful vibe, the other dress takes more of a modern reinterpretation of a sexy silhouette although it pretty much required almost the same hand appliqueing techniques for both dresses.

Ivory and Rose gold

Hola everyone! So I'm here for a quick update on one of the recent weddings I happened to design for which is basically all about the romantic colour story of ivory and rose gold and of course, incorporating 2015's biggest weddings trends, 'The metalics and sequins'!

Kasuni, being that very chilled out bride, who was amazing to work with, suggested we go for a rose gold glitz and glam/dramatic sorta theme which is very glamourous, contemporary and sophisticated. I chose a peach/coral to compliment the rose gold for a more subtle look for her entourage and as for her bridal I've done a mix of ivory and white bridal lace and pleated her skirt on either sides of her waist to floor with an extended tail at the back for a slightly dramatic yet elegant feel.

So here I have attached images of the work in progress to the final look of the day. Sit back, relax and enjoy!

My collaborations with Paul Fredrick

Hello everyone! It’s been awhile since I did a proper blog post and I must mention that recently I received an email from the Community Enagagement Coordinator by Paul fredrick, where they had asked me to participate in one of their projects which is to describe about my dream ‘Mr Grey’ and who I think should play the role of the upcoming romantic thriller ‘50 shades of Grey’ which we are all impatiently waiting for. Men’s fashion hasn’t been quite the subject in my blog but yes I would love to give my take on men’s fashion and provide my own style board for the role of 'Christian Grey'.

So for starters, as we all know the character Christian Grey is a distressed handsome billionaire whose role is played by Jamie Dornan and just by a glimpse of their recently launched trailer that one thing that grabs your attention is his impeccably refined suits that make a tasteful style statement! Which is known to be one aspect of the book that has literally been translated to the finest detail in the movie.

So if I had to pick my dream ‘Mr Grey’ I think I’m going to go with non other than the dashing ‘Ryan Gosling' who I think would have even made justice to the role of ‘Mr Grey'. Ok IF, you maybe looked at him in a sort of  'Jacob Palmer' in Crazy, Stupid, Love way? :D

As for me he is the epitome of exquisite taste when it comes to mens fashion and I could easily imagine him in these dapper duds that are quite similar to those worn by Christian Grey in 50 shades of grey and as for Mr.Grey's role, that's where the challenge is right?

Ryan Gosling- My dream Mr.Grey

Clothes that define his personality

He is young, handsome, business savvy and as quoted by Anastasia, “He is polite, intense, smart and very intimidating!” So taking these characteristics in to account I have a curated wardrobe ready that I think would definitely work for the role of 'Mr Grey'.

How I would dress him for the character

I am having so much fun doing this collaboration post with Paul Fredrick and you might want to drop by and have a look at their website if you're interested in treating yourself to one of these exquisitely tailored items taken straight from their website at http://www.paulfredrick.com

L'homme dominant

Colours can make a bold fashion statement nevertheless I prefer a man who sticks to the classics such as the basic colours like black, shades of grey and navy blue. They are classy, stylish, adds sophistication, timeless and the most practical choice for all men including Mr. Grey.

The white dress shirt

The most essential dress shirt every young man should own is the ‘White dress shirt’! It’s so versatile that you could wear it under a suit or a sweater, pair it up with denims or khaki pants for a more casual vibe, wear suspenders or a waist coat over and if you’re a print person you could even wear it under a printed suit. It’s your call! But hey, what’s wrong with being a little expressive and experimental ha? Here are some example images of how a white dress shirt can be worn.

A fitted dress shirt accompanied by a slim fit suit would be the ideal look I suggest for any man including an incredibly successful and wealthy young entrepreneur like Mr.Grey. After all a good fit is the foundation to a well-dressed appearance and surely this ensemble simply screams l’homme dominant!

Work in progress!

These last days have been super crazy, as I've been running all over to finish up the wedding dresses of the December brides who are eagerly waiting for their big day! (Hence, why I haven't had much time to blog.) Anyways, we are a few weeks away and the dresses are still a work in progress. Here are some hints of the Walima dress I'm working on right now. Didn't really want to post a full pic of the dress to keep the surprise, instead some detail images of the lace appliques and the hand work.
